535 Club
The AGC PAC 535 Club was established with the inception of AGC PAC in 1977. The Club recognizes individuals who contribute at least $1,000.00 to AGC PAC during a calendar year. The name is derived from the PAC's goal to elect 535 United States Representatives and Senators who are willing to give the construction industry a fair hearing on industry issues. Club members are invited to use the AGC PAC 535 Clubroom during each of our two AGC national meetings (the convention in the spring, and the midyear meeting in the fall). The 535 Clubroom is set up as a private "members only" VIP lounge for members and their spouses. The room provides amenities similar to, but clearly beyond, what you would find in an airline VIP Clubroom. Members are encouraged to display their 535 Club membership lapel pins as a point of identification and acknowledgement of those who hold a valid membership in the Club, as well as to discourage any potential abuse of the room. The Clubroom provides:
The Clubroom also provides a relaxing place to keep in touch with your office, a place to conduct AGC business, and a place to enjoy the company of fellow 535 Club members. Members are encouraged to use the Clubroom as a place to bring a guest - hopefully, with the objective of recruiting those individuals as new members. A Clubroom Announcement is sent to each 535 Club member prior to the national meetings, and Clubroom location and hours are posted in the AGC convention and midyear programs (schedule of events) prepared for each national meeting. All expenses for the Clubroom are paid by AGC - not by the PAC. All AGC PAC funds are used for candidate contributions. |
