On every project, effective leadership is the key to successfully meeting overall project goals. AGC’s Leadership in Construction Workshop was designed and developed by constructors – for constructors. Instructors and participants bring real world examples into the classroom and take an in-depth look at the following areas:

• Misconceptions and dynamics of leadership
• Personal behaviors and leadership styles
• Conflict resolution strategies
• Measuring leadership abilities
• Practical ideas for implementing change

Through a series of personal assessment tools (including a 360 evaluation), team projects, and instruction by field experienced constructors, this dynamic three day workshop allows participants to expand their leadership skill set and build confidence for continued growth.

Participants will:

• Identify their personal leadership style through a series of personal assessments, including a 360 evaluation
• Examine the principles of leadership and discuss strategies to implement them with co-workers in the field and/or office
• Compare the difference between management and leadership and learn to distinguish qualities of each
• Examine and demonstrate an effective model for conflict resolution
• Map an action plan for continued personal and professional growth
• Participate in various group activities and assignments to reinforce concepts covered in presentations and discussions
• Obtain 2.7 CEUs

Participant Profile

Attendance is open to all individuals in the construction industry who direct or influence other personnel to meet project goals. Examples of job specific areas and titles include: senior management team members, project engineers/manages, estimators, area/branch managers, superintendents, operations managers and safety directors.

Continuing Education Notice

The Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) has been approved as an Authorized Provider by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET), 8405 Greensboro Drive, Suite 800, McLean, VA 22102-5120. In obtaining this approval, AGC has demonstrated that it complies with the ANSI/IACET Standards which are widely recognized as standards of good practice internationally. As a result of their Authorized Provider membership status, AGC is authorized to offer IACET CEUs for its programs that qualify under the ANSI/IACET Standards. AGC has awarded 2.7 CEUs to participants who successfully complete this program. Over 400 agencies, state boards and other organizations recognize the IACET CEU.

Participants who wish to earn CEUs for this program are expected to arrive on time, attend the program from start to finish, complete the evaluation and complete the post-program online exam with a score of 75% or greater.

Registration & Tuition

The registration form can be found in the Leadership in Construction Workshop brochure. Please submit the completed form with full payment in order for the registration to be processed. Checks and credit cards are accepted for payment. Online registration is also available for this program.

The all inclusive tuition for AGC members is $2,495 and for non-members tuition is $3,085. This fee covers hotel accommodations and all meals for each day of the program and instructional materials. AGC of America also handles the booking of participants’ hotel rooms.

Participants are responsible for securing their own flights and ground transportation. Due to the intensive nature of this course, the presence of spouses or guests is not permitted.
