Project Management CurriculumAGC Project Manager Development Program (PMDP) AGC of America is excited to launch the NEW Project Manager Development Program (PMDP) in August 2008. The PMDP is designed for new project managers and those looking to make the move into project management. When released, the curriculum is available to be used by AGC chapters, individual construction firms, educational institutions and many others to teach a new generation of project managers the skills. The PMDP is a highly interactive set of five courses, with case studies, PowerPoints and video clips, in class activities and a wide range of discussion topics will provide participants the skills essential to their careers as project managers. Target AudienceThe curriculum is intended to introduce and reinforce the concepts and terminology of project management to beginning project managers and those looking to make a move into project management. CoursesEach course will have an instructor's guide (accompanied with PowerPoint presentations and "tips from the top" digital clips) and a participant's manual for course attendees. The five modules include: Module 1: Estimating and Job Costing CostThe instructor guide and participant manuals will cost the same: AGC members, $125 per manual and non-members, $155 per manual. DurationEach module is designed for delivery in approximately 16 hours of instruction, with the ability to block the material into two-hour, four-hour, or eight-hour sessions in order to accommodate a variety of course structures. DeliveryOnce publication is complete, the curriculum will be delivered at AGC chapters, individual construction firms, educational institutions and others. A nationwide calendar will be available to easily locate training facilities and course schedules.
