Experts point to the growing importance of data-driven management in construction safety. We should be able to use the increasingly available amount of construction safety-related data to improve safety decisions and protocols. But when our safety inspection data is dispersed among hard drives, filing cabinets, and Construction Management Systems, it becomes extremely difficult to assemble, process, and analyze this data. Our safety program remains outside the domain of modern analysis techniques, such as artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML).
By using consistent digital inspection processes, we can make our data more available for modern analysis, which helps us deliver insights and knowledge that address the human and financial risks of the construction environment. Digitization, then, is the first step in more effectively mitigating construction safety and quality risk across all of our projects and clients.
