Second Annual AGC Charities Operation Opening Doors to Help Las Vegas Family

Volunteers, Donors Needed to Support March 19th and 20th Project to Help Family With 16-Year Old Daughter Suffering From Rare Form of Childhood-Onset Epilepsy AGC Charities, with the help of volunteer lead contractor Jaynes Corporation, is looking for volunteers and donors to help support the 2nd Annual Operation Opening Doors project.  The project, which is scheduled to take place two days before the start of the Annual Convention, will help the Rotta family of Las Vegas. The Rotta’s – who have adopted five children with unique medical needs – 16 year-old daughter Ashlyn is suffering from Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome, an extremely rare form of childhood-onset epilepsy.  As their daughter’s condition worsens, Ashlyn is becoming increasingly wheelchair bound, making it difficult for the family to move her around their split-level house. Watch a video on the family and necessary home modifications here. AGC member Jaynes Corportation’s Steve Brooke and Gary Congdon of Lee & Sakahara Architects are donating their time to help oversee the project and are currently drafting plans to install new wheelchair accessible ramps and bathroom fixtures to help make life easier for Ashlyn and her family. Over the coming days we will be distributing a list of supplies and skills needed to help undertake the charitable project.  If you are planning to travel to Las Vegas, we hope you will consider arriving early and helping support this project.  Discount room rates are available early for people participating in this year’s Operation Opening Doors project until AGC’s room block is filled.  And if you are not planning to attend the convention, we hope you will consider helping provide some of the materials needed for this project.
