AGC Outstanding Student Chapter Contest

The AGC Outstanding Student Chapter Contest, designed to recognize and reward AGC Student Chapters for their dedication to community and public service projects, is now accepting applications for projects undertaken during the 2010-11 academic year. All AGC Student Chapters are encouraged to submit an application to showcase their work in the community. There is no cost to apply. Winners will receive cash prizes - $1,500 for first place, $750 for second place, $400 for third place - a certificate and an opportunity to give a presentation on their project during the 93rd AGC Annual Convention in Honolulu in March 2012. All applicants should provide a brief description of one key activity undertaken between Aug. 15, 2010 and May 1, 2011, that was performed for the benefit of the local community.  Descriptions should convey the project’s impact on the community.  In past years, student chapters have submitted applications for such projects as working on an Extreme Makeover Home Edition; helping with post-Hurricane Katrina cleanup; making a house handicapped accessible; constructing a therapeutic riding facility; and building a greenhouse for a high school. Complete guidelines and fill-in PDF applications are available on AGC’s website. All applications and supplemental materials are due by the close of business on Friday, May 20, 2011.
