AGC Releases New Employment Data During Media Event in Dallas

Construction employment increased in 120 out of 337 metropolitan areas between May 2010 and May 2011, declined in 162 and stayed level in 55, according to a new analysis of federal employment data released Tuesday by AGC. AGC and TEXO, the North Texas Chapter of AGC, held a media event in Dallas, Texas, noting that the local employment data reflects the fact that overall construction employment has been unchanged for much of the past year. During the event at the Museum Tower construction site, project manager Brian Martinelli of Austin Industries, discussed the importance of the project to job creation in Dallas. AGC officials, including TEXO chair Tony Rader, explained how green construction projects are boosting construction employment all over the country. Read the press release here.
