TED Conference Offers Special Training Center Tour

As a special feature of the 2011 Training, Education & Development (TED) Conference, AGC is offering a tour of our Kansas City, Missouri, Chapter’s training center, one of the most successful multiple-union apprenticeship facilities in the country. The Builders’ Association Education and Training Center provides a place for instruction in the basic trades to over 2,500 persons annually from three locations, with its hub being the 100,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility containing laboratories, training rooms, a conference center, and administrative offices. The center includes bricklayers, tile setters, ironworkers, glaziers, carpenters and millwrights, cement masons, plasterers, and painters. The tour will take place following the closing session of the TED Conference, so if you plan to attend, make sure your return airplane flight leaves no earlier than 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 4. The tour buses will depart from the Crowne Plaza at 12:30 p.m., arriving at the training center at 12:45, where Chapter and training center representatives will provide tours, demonstrations, and snacks. Buses will arrive back at the Crowne Plaza by 2:30 p.m. Please note there is an additional $15 per person fee to cover the cost of the buses. Separate pre-registration is required. The 2011 TED Conference is co-located in Kansas City, Missouri, with the HR Professionals Conference and the Federal Contracting Compliance Construction HR Workshop.
