Save the Date for AGC Contractors Environmental Conference; Sponsorship Opportunities Available

Join AGC at its first national conference on environmental issues that affect construction professionals on June 7-8, 2012 in Arlington, Virginia, just across the river from our nation's capital. Recognizing today's tough and competitive economic environment in the vertical and horizontal construction markets, the 2012 AGC Contractors Environmental Conference will provide educational sessions, discussions, networking opportunities and technology demonstrations with a specific focus on how to generate profits, gain efficiencies, save money and manage risks. The first day-and-a-half at the conference will provide construction professionals with information and resources to meet environmental requirements and remain competitive in the marketplace.  Topics to be addressed at the conference include integrating environmental management across company activities to support compliance and sustainability efforts, wearing multiple hats at a company, complying with changing stormwater requirements, preventing and controlling oil spills, identifying hidden hazards in buildings, and exploring 2012 developments in green building standards and codes—and more.  AGC also plans to hold a supplementary workshop zeroing in on the environmental issues important to federal contractors in the afternoon of the second day at the same location. Mark your calendars now and stay tuned for more details.  Online registration for the conference and the workshop will be available soon.  We look forward to seeing you on June 7 and 8! Sponsorship Opportunities AGC offers many ways for sponsors to demonstrate their company’s dedication to the construction industry and build their company’s name and profile at this first national Contractors Environmental Conference.  Please take a moment to review the sponsorship opportunities brochure online and secure a prominent position at this important event. AGC also is offering three 15-minute Technology Product Demonstrations immediately following three plenary sessions during the conference.  Accepted technology products would be those that improve the environmental performance of the construction process.  Final selection will be made based on relevance and usefulness to the industry.  Companies with an interest in giving a technology demonstration should review the sponsorship opportunities brochure online and complete the included form. For more information on the conference, contact Melinda Tomaino at (703) 837-5415 or tomainom@agc.org.  Conference information also is online at www.agc.org/enviroconf2012, and will be updated frequently.
