2012 AGC Outstanding Student Chapter Contest

Applications are currently being accepted for the AGC Outstanding Student Chapter Contest, designed to recognize and reward AGC Student Chapters for their dedication to community and public service projects. All AGC Student Chapters are encouraged to submit an application to showcase their work in the community during the 2011-12 academic year. There is no cost to apply, however we do ask that all submissions be submitted using the PDF; applications that do not use this form will not be considered. Winners will receive cash prizes ¾ $1,500 for first place, $750 for second place, $400 for third place ¾ a certificate and an opportunity to give a presentation on their project during the 94th AGC Annual Convention in Palm Springs, California, in March 2013. All applicants should provide a brief description of one key activity undertaken between Aug. 15, 2011 and May 1, 2012, that was performed for the benefit of the local community.  Descriptions should convey the project’s impact on the community.  In past years, student chapters have submitted applications for such projects as working on an Extreme Makeover Home Edition; helping with post-Hurricane Katrina cleanup; making a house handicapped accessible; constructing a therapeutic riding facility; and building a greenhouse for a high school. Please note that you may only apply one time for one project; so if a project is begun during one school year and completed the next, you may choose only oneyear to apply. Complete guidelines and fill-in PDF applications are available on AGC’s website. All applications and supplemental materials are due by the close of business on Friday, May 18, 2012. If you have questions, please contact Liz Elvin at elvinl@agc.org.
