AGC is pleased to announce the appointment of six new members and the new chair, Connie Determan with Kiewit Corporation, to serve on its Environmental Forum Steering Committee through the AGC Convention 2015. Members of the Steering Committee have direct access to federal regulatory officials, influence over AGC's environmental agenda, and a means to exchange valuable information with one another and industry peers. AGC also acknowledges the invaluable contributions of those members who recently completed their terms on the Steering Committee.
The Steering Committee met on June 6 with several program offices of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and with the U.S. Corps of Engineers on water issues, wetlands permitting, and waste. The Steering Committee members also volunteered to open sessions and introduce speakers at the first-ever AGC 2012 Contractors Environmental Conference (CEC) on June 7 and 8, held in Arlington, Va. They helped to form the educational programs at that conference and will begin planning very soon the content for the 2013 CEC.
