AGC Awards Application Deadline is Fast Approaching

There’s still time to submit an entry for the Alliant Build America Awards, the Liberty Mutual Marvin M. Black Excellence in Partnering Awards, AGC in the Community Awards, and AGC Chapter Public Relations Awards, but the Friday, Nov. 2, 2012 deadline for all four awards is coming up fast. All member companies and Chapters in good standing are highly encouraged to submit and be recognized for the outstanding work they do. Alliant Build America Award: This award honors AGC members who build the nation’s most impressive construction projects. The prestigious award, a stainless steel I-beam, is presented in a variety of construction project categories ranging across the building, highway and transportation, municipal and utilities, and federal and heavy divisions. Past winners have restored community churches, redesigned congestive roadways and built high-profile stadiums. Liberty Mutual Marvin M. Black Excellence in Partnering Award: This award was named for AGC’s 1991 president, Marvin M. Black, an ardent supporter of the partnering process, and recognizes the successful partnerships and collaborations that work to improve construction projects.  Contractors honored with this award stand out for their ability to resolve conflict, involve and improve communication with all stake holders and achieve common goals. AGC in the Community Award: The AGC in the Community Award is an initiative of AGC Charities, Inc., and is designed to showcase the amazing community service projects of member companies and AGC chapters. The awards recognize service projects that epitomize the essence of charitable giving, through actual hands-on service and donations to charitable organizations. AGC Chapter Public Relations Award: This award recognizes chapter achievements in public relations. Past winners have successfully showcased campaigns and programs that positively reflect the construction industry. Applicants must submit their entries and entry fees (as applicable) online. We are unable to accept paper or faxed applications. Our awards submission site also provides answers to common applicant questions and additional resources to help applicants in crafting their submissions. Winners will be announced at AGC of America's 94th Annual Convention in Palm Springs, California in March of 2013. For additional information, please contact Elisa Brewer Pratt at brewere@agc.org.
