New Joint Task Force Established

The Building and Federal and Heavy Construction Divisions have established a new task force to help AGC members learn more about underutilized and excess Federal facilities, an emerging industry issue. Over the years, legislation addressing this issue has failed to pass in Congress. Many of these facilities may be located on valuable real estate, ripe for commercial development and construction. The purpose of this Task Force is to encourage enactment of legislation that allows federal agencies to more efficiently dispose of underutilized or excess facilities, in an effort to further spur construction market opportunities.  The Task Force will consist of three members of the Federal & Heavy Construction Division and three members from the Building Division selected by the respective Division Chairs, and Vice Chairs. The Chairs and Vice Chairs from both Divisions will be participating as well. The Task Force will end its work by the first quarter of 2015.
