AGC’s 2015 Awards Competitions Are Now Open to Submissions, Includes Environmental Category!

Members and chapters encouraged to apply: deadline is 10/31. AGC of America is proud to announce the launch of the 2015 AGC/Alliant Build America and the AGC in the Community competitions.  AGC encourages all member companies in good standing who meet the competition requirements to apply.  With several categories and types of projects from which to choose, including an environmental category, we hope there is a “right fit” for one of your projects.  For several years now, AGC has offered a category that focuses solely on the environmental aspects of a project such as wetland mitigation, ground water clean-up or required reclaiming or remediating an environmentally contaminated site (e.g., brownfields, superfund, illegal dumping site, and abandoned mine).  In addition, many past winners of the AGC/Alliant Build America awards have included environmental elements into their submissions, for example, achieving a green building certification.  Other Awards News After a successful first year, the 2015 Alliant Build America Awards will again include a "Partnering Excellence" category to recognize those projects best epitomizing the principles of partnering. This award is similar to the Marvin M. Black awards given out prior to 2014. Those looking to apply for this award should choose the AGC Build America Marvin M. Black Partnering Competition application when starting a new entry. This competition has different questions and criteria than the rest of the Build America categories do. A couple of changes we wanted to let you in on:
  • Build America: Build New and Building Renovation are now composed of three distinctions each: Under $10M; $11M to $199M; $200M or More. We hope this will more accurately reflect the current market.
  • Build America: We have added a Construction Management Civil category for contractors wishing to submit civil projects completed using the Construction Management project delivery system.
  • AGC in the Community: There is now a minimum $150 donation fee to AGC Charities required with each AGC in the Community submission.
Begin Your Submission Click here to begin your entry today using an online submission system.  We hope you will once again find the process easy and convenient. The final deadline for all AGC/Alliant Build America entries and AGC in the Community entries is Friday, Oct. 31, 2014 at 11:59 PM EST.
