EPA is Accepting Applications for Diesel Emissions Reduction Act Grants

Deadline to apply is February 26, 2020

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently announced the availability of approximately $44 million in Diesel Emission Reduction Program (DERA) grant funds to support projects aimed at reducing emissions from the nation's existing fleet of older diesel engines. Under this competition, between 40 and 60 awards are anticipated to be made to eligible applicants.  AGC advocates for funding each year to facilitate AGC chapter and member participation in the program.

According to EPA, eligible applicants include regional, state, local or tribal agencies, or port authorities, with jurisdiction over transportation or air quality. Nonprofit organizations also may apply if they provide pollution reduction or educational services to diesel fleet owners or have, as their principal purpose, the promotion of transportation or air quality.

EPA will hold a webinar in January to discuss program details, changes this year, eligible entities, submitting proposals, etc.:
