Construction HR & Training Professionals Gear Up for Industry Virtual Conference

Each October, construction industry professionals in HR, training and workforce development gear up for the industry’s premier learning and networking event, AGC’s Construction HR & Training Professionals Conference, and this year is no different. The 2020 event has gone completely virtual and will be held Oct. 6-8, 2020.

During the Conference, sessions for training professionals will cover the most cutting-edge techniques in training and development currently in use and envisioned for the future of the industry while the HR-related sessions will help HR professionals in the industry remain up to date and compliant with employment laws and best practices.

Not to be missed this year are the Conference’s four anchor sessions in addition to several interesting breakout sessions. During the opening session of the conference, Cal Beyer will kick off the conference with his session “Mental Health & Wellbeing: How to Communicate in a Crisis.” Stuart Buttrick, prominent management-side labor attorney and conference regular, will kick off day two of the conference with the session “2020 Labor & Employment Law Update – What A Mess(!).” On the final day of the conference, Curtis Thom from Kiewit will facilitate a panel discussion of industry experts from HR, training and IT, titled “Virtual Work Environment in Construction During the Pandemic and What Lies Ahead.” And to close out the conference, Brynn Huneke from AGC of America will host a second panel conversation addressing racism in construction and becoming a catalyst for change.

General and specialty contractor staff, AGC chapter staff, and other professionals involved in workforce and professional development, education, human resources and training are invited to attend. For those seeking to earn professional credentials at the event, Conference attendees who hold a PHR, SPHR or GPHR certification and attend the entire conference and workshop typically earn credits through the HR Certification Institute. Sessions may also qualify for SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP recertification.
