Agenda Available for AGC 2024 Construction Safety, Health and Environmental Conference

Check out learning opportunities for environmental and sustainability professionals

The AGC Construction Safety Health and Environmental Conference will take place on July 16-18, 2024, in St. Louis, Missouri. Whether you focus solely on environmental compliance or greening your company’s business and projects---this conference has something for you. Best yet, you can select your options based on your needs.

Go to the conference website for details and to register: www.shec.agc.org.

First, AGC is holding a pre-conference summit specific to climate change in construction on the afternoon of July 15. That summit will walk contractors through what to expect when looking at reporting and reducing carbon emissions from all types of projects. Check out the details here.

Second, the one-day environmental educational track on July 16 will provide an expansive regulatory update on top environmental issues that demand compliance on jobsites. Attendees will get up to date on federal regulatory initiatives, as well as dive into compliance implementation issues associated with waters and species issues (dewatering, wetlands, bats, etc.) as well as air and wastes (air reporting, forever chemicals, etc.). We will also discuss how climate change may impact jobsite environmental compliance and how to plan accordingly. The educational track will provide time for peer discussion and sharing of state issues.

Third, environmental professionals working in-house at construction firms will meet on July 17 for a day of peer roundtable discussions on environmental management and compliance issues that are of top on attendees’ to do lists. These discussions are often described as a highlight of the year because the agenda is driven by peer learning and case studies. We typically cover about 14-16 topics throughout the day (exact topics chosen by attendees).

And a reminder for current and past members of AGC’s Environmental Committee (formerly Environmental Forum Steering Committee), be sure to stick around for a business meeting the morning of July 18.
