Montgomery-based Caddell Construction Awarded For Performing Outstanding Charitable Work

Construction Industry’s Charitable Group, AGC Charities, Names Caddell Construction as Its 2024 AGC in the Community Award Member Winner For Their Work on Their 40 for 40 Community Service Challenge

COLMBUS, OHIO – Montgomery-based Caddell Construction was awarded for performing some of the construction industry’s best charitable work in 2024. As a result, the group received the AGC in the Community Member award for company-wide 40-hour community service challenge.

“These award winners remind us of how the men and women of our industry are using their skills and their resources to support the neediest in their communities,” said Lainee Perala, chair of AGC Charities and Project Manager of Perlo Construction. "They are showing how important community is to this industry.”

In honor of Caddell’s 40th anniversary, the firm’s executive leadership challenged each project team, corporate office and support department to perform at least 40 hours of community service in their local area between June and December 2023. President and CEO Mac Caddell wanted this initiative to reinforce the company’s key tenets, known as “The Caddell Way.” In total, more than 300 employees, family members and trade partners volunteered, completing more than 1,500 hours of service work across 36 different charities worldwide. These charities included food banks, land cleanup, animal welfare, disaster relief, and more, in 11 states, Guam, the Bahamas and Mexico. Many volunteers have continued their service after the official challenge ended.

The AGC in the Community Awards are given to construction firms and chapters in recognition of their charitable works by AGC Charities, Inc., the charitable arm of the Associated General Contractors of America, AGC Charities, Inc.

AGC in the Community Award winners are selected by a panel of judges representing all areas of construction.  Award entries were evaluated based on the level of commitment, the scope of the philanthropic efforts and the quality of the benefits to the community. The awards were announced today during the association’s Annual Convention in Columbus, Ohio.
