Free Webinar Explains How to Use ECHO The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) provides public access to industry regulatory compliance and enforcement data online. The Enforcement and Compliance History Online (ECHO) website at http://echo.epa.gov integrates data from EPA information systems for public use. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) on May 27 completed and released a new and final rule on the water features over which they will claim jurisdiction. The new rule is the culmination of their long and controversial effort to align federal regulations with the latest U.S. Supreme Court decisions and simultaneously make permitting decisions easier.
Action Needed Now – House Vote as Early as Tomorrow, Rule Expected to be Finalized Soon The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) are close to finalizing their proposed rule redefining "waters of the U.S." and making many more areas subject to federal control. More federal control would require nearly all construction sites to obtain often unnecessary Clean Water Act permits. The vast majority of new areas covered by these rules are currently protected by state and local governments so any increase to overall water quality are questionable.

Join us Sept. 2-3 for the nation’s foremost management conference for environmental professionals in the construction industry—AGC’s 2015 Contractors Environmental Conference (CEC) in Arlington, Va. AGC opened registration on Earth Day last week and early bird savings are available through May 31. In addition, a few speaking opportunities remain, so be sure to submit your proposal by the end of next week.
AGC of America is proud to announce Sundt Construction, Inc. won the 2015 AGC/Alliant Build America environmental enhancement award for the Ocotillo Brine Reduction Facility project in Chandler, Ariz. In addition, several green building projects won awards or merit recognition under separate categories such as buildings, renovations, design-build highway and transportation, and international work.
