The fifth course in AGC’s Lean Construction Education Program (LCEP) titled Unit 5: Lean Supply Chain and Assembly is now available! This is an eight-hour, facilitator-led course that introduces the lean strategies and tools used to deliver materials, equipment and prefabricated assemblies to the jobsite in a manner that facilitates flow.

AGC of America is holding its 95th Annual Convention in Las Vegas, Nev. at The Bellagio Resort and Casino from March 3-6. AGC is pleased to announce the addition of two new program coordinators to the Training, Education, & Development Department. Ayda Mohammed has been working with AGC on a temporary basis for the past five months, and starting this year, she has joined the team full-time as Program Coordination, Professional Development. The Laborers International Union of North America (LIUNA) Training and Education Fund’s Instructor Training and Certification Program recently completed a three-year process culminating in accreditation from the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). Organizations seeking ANSI accreditation by ANSI undergo a comprehensive organization-wide assessment and on-site survey by ANSI expert assessors.
A group of owners, academics, construction organizations and labor unions recently participated in a conference focused on the data available on construction labor force supply and demand, and how that information is used throughout the industry. The conference was sponsored by the National Institute of Building Sciences (NISB) and coordinated by the AFL-CIO’s Building Trades Department and Dale Belman, an economics professor at Michigan State University.
